Navrez Bayram is celebrated at Aqmescit's central square

March 20, celebration of the common Turkic holiday, which symbolizes New Year beginning Navrez Bayram was held at the central square of Aqmescit (Simferopil). Dwellers and guests of the city could listen to the Crimean Tatar music, see cheerful Crimean Tatar national dances, Crimean Tatar qureş wrestling during the whole day, 11 a.m. - 9 p.m. at the square. Dancers of the Crimean Tatar folk group 'Qırım', Selsebil violin group, young and gifted singers Emine Mustafa and Aliye Hacabadin, Exalté vocal group and others were at the concert.

Moreover, fashion parade of the national suits of the world peoples made by students of the Crimean Engineering and Pedagogical University of the Arts Department of fine and applied arts sub department was presented at the festival.

Also there were exhibitions and sale of the Crimean Tatar masters' works of the folk applied and decorative arts: Hasan Galim, Elmira Hasan, Izzet Abla and Rüstem Skibin.

The Crimean Tatar traditional embroidery of the craftswomen Ayşe Osman and Tamara Klyuchkina, embroideresses of the 'Can kiset' club (Qurman / Krasnohvardiiske) Lilya Husein, Ulviye Abdullah, Elmira Tahtar and Gülnara Seytveli as well as Director of the 'Gold embroidery' circle Umine Velilya of Zuya town (Qarasubazar / Bilohisk raion) was worthy in the exhibition.

Also representatives of the Azerbaijani Diaspora came to celebrate Navrez-bayram with the Crimean Tatar people to the central square of the capital of Crimea. The Diaspora has presented the exhibition of Azerbaijani national sweets, which are baked to this holiday by tradition, such as: şor-gogal, şekerbura, pahlava, badambura, feseli and others.

Organizers of the festival are the Republican Committee for Interethnic Relations and Formerly Deported Citizens, as well as the State TV Company 'Krym' (Crimea) and the Crimean Tatar Art and Ethnography Foundation.
